STYLE Advertising’s public relations and social media team, Audrey Pannell and Jamie Brooks, were featured speakers at the 2012 Women’s Entrepreneurship Conference & Expo in accordance with the Women of Distinction Global (WODG). The two led participants in a seminar entitled “Social Media Bootcamp 101,” which covered the basics of “The Big 5” social networks including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and Pinterest. The conference was held on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Holiday Inn located in Homewood, Ala.

ABOUT AUDREY PANNELL
Audrey Pannell received her Bachelor of Arts in public relations and minor in business administration from Auburn University in 2009 graduating with cum laude honors. She currently serves as the director of public relations and social media at STYLE Advertising, where she develops, coordinates and executes public relations, marketing and social media campaigns and also serves as a liaison between the media and a wide array of clients in all industry sectors. She has crafted campaigns for leading and emerging brands including Fortune 500 companies, government entities, law firms, non-profit organizations associations and new businesses. Pannell brings an edge to client campaigns with her firm understanding of the impact of social media techniques in developing and implementing public relations and marketing campaigns.
Outside of the office, Pannell is heavily involved in the community serving as board member and public relations chair for both the Young Professionals of Birmingham and also the Junior Board of the Autism Society of Alabama. In addition, Pannell is a member of the Rotaract Club of Birmingham and the Public Relations Society of Alabama. She was also named Ms. Young Hot Birmingham Professional 2010 by the Young Professionals of Birmingham for her philanthropic efforts in raising more than $5,400 for the Autism Society of Alabama.
ABOUT JAMIE BROOKS
Jamie Brooks recently graduated with summa cum laude honors from the University of North Alabama (UNA) in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in public relations and minor in marketing. While at UNA, Brooks served as president of Lambda Pi Eta Communications Honor Society and the Mock Trial Association and was committee chair of UNA’s Public Relations Council of Alabama student chapter. Brooks was honored upon graduation as the top public relations student and represented UNA at the 2011 National Collegiate Honors Conference where she presented extensive research on the benefits of social media use in an organization.
Additionally, Brooks is a local titleholder and competitor in the Miss Alabama program and founded her own non-profit community organization, Dare to Discuss, which works to raise awareness and advocacy for AIDS. Because of her work with Dare to Discuss, Jamie has been recognized as the recipient of several awards including the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, the Daily Point of Light Award and the Miss Alabama Community Service Finalist Award.
Brooks began as a public relations intern at STYLE before being hired as public relations coordinator and social media specialist. In this position, Brooks works with more than 35 public relations clients to implement social media, public relations and marketing campaigns and assists clients in sharing their message with the media. Brooks has won two Medallion Awards for her work at STYLE from the Public Relations Council of Alabama
